thanksgiving day


  • It is a traditional celebration of the United Unidos.se celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November although originally it was done last Thursday. In this day the family usually meets to eat and give thanks for all they have. This day people also go to the street to see the procession that is created by the shop Macy's. And this day marks the beguining of the shopping season because thanksgiving day is one day before the black friday.

NATURAL DISASTERS IN THE USA

The main natural disasters in the usa are:



  • hurricanes: they are large tropical storms with heavy winds. The hurrican Katrina was one of the five hurricanes that killed more people in the USA was in  2005 and killed at least 1833 people .


  • tsunamis:They are a group of high-energy waves that occur when an extraordinary phenomenon vertically displaces a large body of water.The one that was on january 26, 1700 in California was one of the worst tsunamis of the world with a magnitude of 8.7 -9.2


  • floods:is the occupation by water some areas that are usually free from this. One of the worst floods in the USA was the one call 'Irene' that killed 32 people. 

  • tornado: is an air mass with high angular velocity; its lower end is in contact with the surface of the Earth and the top with a cloud. One of the worst tornadoes of  US was was the 'Tri-State Tornado' that killed 695 people.

  • earthquakes:  is the result of a sudden release of energy in the Earth's crust that creates seismic waves. One of the worst of US was 'Prince William Sound,Alaska' on March 27,1964 with a magnitude of 9.2
